Mwanawasa Retains Presidency

As we started to believe over the last few days, Levy Mwanawasa has received enough votes to retain the presidency. The final results were announced last night and he will be swarn in for his second term at 1100 this morning. They don't wasted much time since the presdidency is left vacant until the new one is sworn in. Things should settle down now that there has been an official announcement. Michael Sata still believes that as many as 400,000 votes are missing from areas in which he was strongly favored. He finished in second place and missed the presidency by 300,000 votes. He has little chance of a recount after the swearing in this morning.
