Sophie and Our New Place

Here are some pictures of our new german shepherd puppy, Sophie. She's three months old now but about 2 months in these pictures. She recovered from a near death illness that she suffered a couple weeks back. Her turn-ons are rocks, tennis balls, and brooms. She's pretty adorable and destructive at the same time. Sort of what you'd expect I guess. Check out the paws on that girl.

We decided to stay in Africa for a third year and moved into a new place. It's a 20 minute drive from work which is a change but nice at the same time. Sophie likes the grass and we like how quiet it is. We found a downside yesterday though when we had a run-in with ants. We were standing on the porch and the electricity was out. We had no idea that we were standing amongst millions of ants. They crawled up our pant legs and started BITING. Imagine Bob, Michelle, Sophie and our friend Stanford all going crazy as the ants attacked. Sophie was crying and we were doing something in between crying and laughing. We got a flashlight and witnessed the highways of ants. There was a interstate system coming from the yard. It was like a 40-wide traffic jam. And they were crawling up and into the house. We sprayed as many as we could. Today it looks like a massacre out there.

The palm tree might be Michelle's favorite part.
